I would like to WELCOME all of our families to our school.  I look forward to serving Merquin families and commit myself to this promise.  Merquin staff and I look forward to a productive partnership with you, to ensure that our students achieve their highest potential.  In order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. Working together will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our students success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

At Merquin we believe that our students’ academics are important as well as their social-emotional development.  We have fully implemented Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program. It is a program that focuses on the development and implementation of pro-active procedures and practices to prevent problem behavior for all students and improve school climate. Last year we saw a big improvement with discipline and students’ social development.  We will continue to use incentives to motivate our students to use our school’s Core Values and follow school expectations.
